Safe Passage Tennis Program Discontinued at LAJCC

The Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has made the decision to discontinue the sponsorship Safe Passage Tennis Program as of December 31, 2011 due to reduction in funding.  The Program has had a long history with the LAJCC over the past thirteen years and has delivered on its mission “to create a safe passage for youth making the journey to productive adulthood by using tennis as the vehicle building self-esteem and character.” Formerly known as the Arthur Ashe Safe Passage Foundation Tennis Program, the program has served to break the stereotypes of tennis and provided more than 10,000 youths in the Los Angeles area with valuable lifelong skills.

The Safe Passage Program will continue to be offered at the Home Depot Center starting January 16, 2012.  For more information about the program, contact Tony Brock at t_brock@ymail.com.
